Depends, A female is always more loyal but a little lazy and still more energetic than most dogs.
A male has more of a chance to turn on you and something could go wrong.

German Shepherds generally respond more to praise than they do to treats. When they do something good, praise them. . . . they’re working dogs so thats how they know they’ve pleased the owner. Waving treats in front of their faces will only result in them expecting a treat.
W163AMG ur 100% right she was way to soft and had no confidence don’t worry about that know nothing person who said ur wrong. U can be firm and loving at the same time. Stern then praise.
my German Shepard doesn’t care for treats, so we just give her lots of pets and tell her what a great girl she is and that works.

My GSD’s all house trained in 36hrs so this is unusual – have you seen a vet about it?

I think because if not done properly the dog isn’t getting trained but rather lured into doing something for food. My friend trains K-9 shepherds and uses the ball method as a reward. He swears by it but then he may be biased.
